What is Nsemad?
Nowadays computer security is the question of great importance and a few days ago malware hunters reported about the new threat. This virus is called Nsemad and it doesn’t belong to any already known file-encryption ransomware family. Talking about Nsemad ransomware exactly, hackers usually spread it by the means of various installers. They promote them on the free file sharing services and torrent trackers as free or cracked software. Moreover, they can attack computers directly through the open ports of computers, or by the means of regular Microsoft Office documents. In this case the operating system will execute injected code of the virus simultaneously with the opening of the file. Then Nsemad will modify the Registry folder and system processes, by the means of which it will encrypt the data. As the result the files will get new “.nsemad” extension. At the same time the virus drops the ransom note called “HOW TO RESTORE YOUR FILES.TXT”. The purpose of these notes is to assure victims, that the only way out is to purchase hacker’s decryption services. Don’t do it! In the most cases, criminals just ignore victims after the payment, force them to pay twice or even send them another virus. And still there is a possible way out. Read our detailed guide on how to remove Nsemad ransomware and decrypt “.nsemad” files.
