What is Nginxhole?
Nowadays computer security is the question of great importance and a few days ago malware hunters reported about the new threat. This virus is called Nginxhole and it belongs to Scarab file-encryption ransomware family. Nginxhole ransomware usually spreads by the means of various fake installers. Criminals promote them on the free file sharing services and torrent trackers as if it’s free or cracked software. Moreover, they can attack computers directly through the open ports of computers. Then Nginxhole modifies the Registry folder and infects system processes, by the means of which it encrypts the data. As the result the files get new “.nginxhole” extensions. At the same time the virus drops the ransom note called “DECRYPT FILES.TXT”. The purpose of these notes is to assure victims, that the only way out is to purchase hacker’s decryption services. Don’t do it! In the most cases, criminals just ignore victims after the payment, force them to pay twice or even send them another virus. And still there is a possible way out. Read our detailed guide on how to remove Nginxhole ransomware and decrypt “.nginxhole” files.
